I think: I think they would like to transition from the forum where while moderated,make it tough on marketing as it's hard to scan the headers of any software forum and see the good in the product. With the bakery, you need to put in a string for what you want to read about and they can control whether "hang" or "crash" strings locate any hits for example.
If you look at the headers of the threads here you could get the idea the sky is falling when in reality it may only legitimately for a few.
Celemony for example has eliminated their forum altogether. Your choices are: call or email support or gush over the prepared text about how great Melodyne is. - This is a grandest display of close up the gates, and circle the wagons I have seen yet. I know who Cakewalk is afraid of, but Celemony IMO has nobody to fear - right now anyway.
