  • Any Way To Mass Edit MIDI CC Control Data?

Hello,

I am looking to bring down the overall curve of my MIDI CC data below (CC# 45).   I would like to know if there is some editing utility where I can drop all the values of each tick by a percentage (like you can do with MIDI notes in the event viewer).

I also want to set a MIN and MAX value as well.

Thank You!

i just wanted to let everyone know I found the C-NTROLR.CAL which if you set to 3 will reduce or increase your CC data by percentage!  Also has MIN/MAX!

I have Lua based MFX, in which such operations are simple to define (I mean for me, but when I have a time that is not a problem). Advantages over CAL: that in an FX, when used as such it is not destructive (till applied permanently) and so it is easy to preview/adjust, also during playing; there is at least some kind of GUI; standard "preset" schema exists. Disadvantage: unlike CAL, MFX can not work with many tracks simultaneously.

Also note you can set Min and Max directly on the automation envelope by clicking/dragging. Might be simpler if you're doing your MIDI work in Track View.

Hi Anderton,

The thing is, this is not automation, it is simple MIDI CC data.  Can you do that for this?

Yes, it works on all automation including CC data in MIDI track view. Hover just below the top of the automation lane with the Smart tool until the cursor turns into a line with up/down arrows. Drag down to set the minimum, drag up to set the maximum, then drag the envelope into the final position you want.

Probably the best aspect of this approach is it also lets you "compress" MIDI CC data easily and visually.
