For me I had the most solid experience last January, I think I was on the "M" version. I worked 14 hours a day for eight days straight and had only two crashes, I remember remarking upon it then. Of course, since then I've updated a whole bunch of other things besides Sonar so there is no guarantee going back to that Sonar version would improve stability at all.

For me its the newest one. using Windows 8.1 X 64.
I have a few versions which I loved with the old plug in manager but as far as performance goes,
This version is as solid as ever (for me anyway).

Data Type: Audio and Midi (70% Audio / 30% Midi)
Usage: I use it between 6-10 hours a day.
Region FX: Melodyne, Drum replacer and Vocal synch (use them all)
VST-Instruments: Toontrack, Kontakt, SI Bass, SI Strings, Addictive drums 2, Session Drummer 3
VST FX: Waves, Some of Cakewalks, Fabfilter, PSP, Brainworks, Too many to list.

Every version...since switching to an audio interface with better drivers.

However I haven't updated to 2016.11 because of people reporting problems with the CA-2A, which I use all the time. I figured I'd just wait until it got fixed in December, unless there's a hotfix first.

Regardless. this is a meaningless question because there is no objective way to measure stability. If you measure it by crashes, I can't remember the last time I had a crash BUT I have a finely-tuned hardware and software environment. So that might mean SONAR is stable, or it might mean my computer is. Or it might mean I don't things my computer or SONAR doesn't like, although I exercise both pretty hard.

The most common issues with SONAR relate to third-party plug-ins and audio interface drivers. So if someone installs a problematic plug-in in March that causes SONAR to crash, they'll say February was the most stable release. If someone else installs that plug-in in August, they'll say July was the most stable release.

I'm in a holding pattern with 10/2016, no trouble w/win10 all updates, asio driver.

Hi. I have not had any problems since I believe March last year. And that was a minor one, with a workaround.
It might be as Craig said above.. I think July was the snappiest release for me, but might be because  I installed a bunch plugins in late July / early August. And haven't quite stopped doing that yet
All the best.
