Welcome to the forum.
It should be under Process>Apply Effects>Remove DC Offset.

I don't believe I have ever made any adjustments to that setting in my system.  I didn't know much about it and figured it would be defaulted to a relatively safe setting.

I agree with Herb.  there is a DC offset setting in MC, but I have never had to use it.  the only reason you would need to use it would be if your equipment is adding a DC potential to your signal.  this will be evident in the signal waveform display because the entire waveform will be shifted up in the track (assuming a positive DC offset - I can't think of any reason a negative offset would occur).

here's an example:

I've never had to use a DC offset fix.  is your USB mic causing a DC offset?

Thank you -- Just opened a new project, recorded a sample, highlighted it, and at Process> the "Apply Audio Effects" is there but dim and not active.

Yes, it's the only mic I have for

now ... and I have recorded successfully with it with Audacity, with which I edit out the offset at the start of editing with Audacity. -thanks.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that you have to select a clip/track (it will turn dark when selected) to use the Process commands.

Day 2 of hostage crisis: I did mention I "highlighted" it which I assume is the same as "selecting" it (the sample track I would like to correct dc offset for, that is) ... click the track icon, upper left of track to select it ... right?

side note: Do you work for cake 57Gregy? I assume I am in the right place, correct? No disrespect intended to anyone here personally but if this is the best this company has for support, I assume they are going out of business or will be. Again no disrespect meant for anyone offering help here. I will bite my figurative tongue for now! and wait. I do appreciate these attempts at help regardless. My disappointment is NOT for anything or anyone except who would be responsible for such an ill conceived product. Thank you.

No, none of us work for Cakewalk; we're just users of various Cakewalk programs just trying to help out folks when we can.
None of us have ever had to use Remove DC Offset, so we're going by what the Help files say. You do have the Help files, don't you?
Which brings up why you think you need to use that process: is the waveform shifted in the track as Beagle described?
Cakewalk only has email support for Music Creator, so you might try emailing them since we've never used that process.

thanks 57Gregy. Yeah I emailed them a few hours ago.

My not being able to even access Audio Effects (Process>Apply Audio Effects) regardless of "DC Offset Correction" is a problem within itself! So far it seems that the problem is with the software not with my ability to figure it out.
