I have long wanted to edit Dimension Pro sounds. I have tried a few times, but can't seem to make it work.

Can anyone give me a short lesson on editing the ADSR, etc. so that I can change the sound and save it as a pre-set?

Thanks!

Are you talking SFZ or the envelopes in DimPro itself?

First of all, you have to know what an envelope is (what I think you're calling a waveform) and what it does.

If you're really new to sound creation, take a look at the free references in this post and prepare yourself for a lot of studying.

If you are already experienced and just want to know how to do it in DimPro, the help file under

"Using the Modulators Module -> Envelope Generators"

explains how to edit the EGs.

Also worth checking out the Dimension Pro wiki!

Dimension is a breeze once you know your way around.  The traditional amplitude ADSR can be found under the Amp Modulator tab:

Then make sure the Amp Envelope is ON:

You can then right click within the Envelope area to make new Envelope 'Nodes'.  Create any custom ADSR shape you want.

Also worth noting hotkeys:

S - Turns node into a Sustain Node (Vertical orange line appears on node)
N - Toggles Envelope Segment shape (Used in the screenshot for the release segment)

Save your new program or edited ADSR program as a new Program within the File I/O menu.

Enjoy!
