New computer w10 (HP Pavilion Desktop 595, 64 bits, 16 GB) and installed everything. No problems at all, DDrums 1 and 2 are working, but HALion Sonic 2 is not being recognized by Sonar Studio 7. What to do? Thanks anyway, Ron

I'd seriously consider upgrading to CbB - Sonar 7 is ancient (and if I remember correctly, pretty buggy - I couldn't wait until Sonar 8 / 8.5 came out).

Also, Sonar 7 doesn't support VST 3. Maybe this is the issue?

Absolutely, upgrade. It's free, why wouldn't you?

I definitely agree with the other users concerning moving forward with Cakewalk by BandLab.
While you are still in this version however I would make sure you check your Plugin Manager "PATHS" to make sure SONAR is seeing HALionSonic. I would then do a "complete" re-scan of everything just to make sure it gets picked up.

Thank you all for advice. It's time to upgrade for shure. Within an hour everything was working also Halion Sonic and ADrums, but with some distortion! What might be the problem.? I listened to the song of Sophia Jane and everything sounds well, even the drums.

Latest audio interface drivers installed?  Check your device and driver settings in Preferences.  ASIO?

Maybe the sample buffer size is too low -- bump it up one setting.

This may not be it, but if Windows has set your audio interface to be its default device, and the bit rate and/or sample rate it's chosen is different from that in Sonar/CbB, it can cause distortion.

A quick workaround is to stop/start the audio engine once CbB has loaded up (the button to the left of the MIDI panic button).

A more permanent solution is to either
(i) Make sure your audio settings in Windows match what you're using in CbB; or
(ii) Set Windows default audio device to be your on-board sound device.
