Trying this for first  time . From acoustic guitar track / clip to synth piano. Bad result. Just get one note that keeps banging over and over..( on piano synth). Thought I followed the help instructions stepsteps but something not working well.  Thanks in advance. 

More info please . . . are you using Melodyne to do the conversion ?

Check Melodyne not using percussive algorithm.

Using version - Essential 4.  Yes using Melodyne - I apply Melodyne to the region, then the "Copy MIDI events" command as instructions say (although at this point - what MIDI events!). I have the universal algorithm checked (not percussive) and not melodic. 

You need to upgrade to Studio or Editor to get polyphonic conversion. Try playing a one note at a time solo passage and see how it works with your version. And use melodic for your version. (If you are converting an entire take, you can actually drag the audio track onto a midi one and the conversion will happen and show you the midi notes automatically).

I think problem solved - I had to check melodic algorithm and this displayed all the notes on Melodyne's piano roll
 

OK thanks . Will look into that upgrade. My melodic MIDI conversion is not too bad but could be better. .
