Hello, I have been using Cakewalk since Sonar 8, but this is the first time I have used the forum.
 
When using either the MOTU 828x (or the Cakewalk UA-25EX), I get the same problem... some light static will be recorded as follows;
Recording 2 mono tracks with Analog 1 and Analog 2 inputs = static
Recording 1 stereo track with Analog 1/2 inputs = no problems
Recording 2 mono tracks with Analog 1 and Analog 3 inputs = no problems
Recording 2 mono tracks with ADAT A1 and ADAT A2 = static
Recording 2 mono tracks with ADAT A1 and ADAT A3 = no problems
Recording 2 mono tracks with ADAT A1 and ADAT B2 = no problems
This problem is happening on two different computers, one with Windows 7 and one with Windows 10... it has happened with various versions of Sonar Platinum (but not with SONAR X1 or ver 8.5).  The static recording does not happen when I switch over to Digital Performer, Harrison MixBus or Sony Sound Forge. 
Also, when moving the volume fader up/down on a good track, like bass or organ, I hear some static ticks until I stop moving the fader... this doesn't happen with the other software either.  This is happening on a fresh simple session with no plugins at all.
I have optimized my operating systems for audio. 
I reported this to Cakewalk... case number 326942, but it may take a while for them to get back to me.
Anyone out there have any ideas on how this can be fixed?

Does this mean you're using WDM mode with both interfaces enabled or you're switching between interfaces in ASIO mode?
 
Although you indicated it's only happening with certain inputs, you should verify that 'Remove DC Offset' is disabled in Audio > Playback and Recording preferences. There was a problem reported with this a while ago, and I don't recall whether it was fixed.

I have always been using "remove DC offset", so I'll try testing that later today.
I only plug in one audio interface at a time and use the latest ASIO drivers for that device... trying the WDM drivers didn't solve the problem.

Disabling "remove DC offset" did the trick.  Every input records clean now.  Hopefully Cakewalk will fix that bug in the future... I'll email them the info with regards to my case number as well.

This bug ruined several recordings of mine, but it is version dependent (i.e. was fixed at some stage).

Thanks for the info... I think the bug is back in the latest version, 22.8.0 Build 30 (2016.08).
 
Cakewalk support got back to me the next day after posting this and confirmed the bug, and said they would add it to the "bug list".  I have always kept "remove DC offset" enabled in the past with other versions of Sonar... just in case it helped when remote recording in places with dirty power, but maybe I never really needed it on in the first place?  Yeah, not knowing what the bug was cost me some money in wasted drum sessions ;-)  Price of an education.  I'm loving Sonar Platinum otherwise.

Sonar Platinum is recording static for me again.  Unchecking the "remove DC offset" box solved my two track recording issue, but now I am getting major static while recording a single mono track.  If I restart Sonar enough times, it goes back to normal.  This is in a new session with one audio track direct to the master output with no plugins.  The static is never heard on the input, but on playback and is in the wave file.  I am still using the Oct 2016 release.  Does Sonar not like the MOTU 828x?  The last time it happened, I immediately closed Sonar and opened Harrison MixBus and recorded a track... no problems.  Any suggestions would be great!Thanks,

as said in the other thread: we should follow up on this ... no point trading in high end interfaces just because Sonar may not like it ...
