I have a zoom R16 audio board where I have to uninstall the previous driver to install the updated drivers.  Unfortunately I get the operating system is not adequate for running the R16 Driver.  It is strange still this has been driving my sound within Sonar for several years, but it is time for an updated driver to zoom R16 V2.1.0.  I tried to run as administrator, but this did not help.  I upgraded my Win7 solution to Win10 a year ago or so.  I also tried the uninstall in the start menu under zoom with admin rights; it also failed this way. 
 
Any ideas?

I wish I could help.  I just ran the uninstall/install process without problems in Win8.1
 
Do you have the unit still connected via USB?  The guide says to have it unplugged ...

I noticed that the new driver supported Windows 10 and my MIDI timing is really slow.  Thought this might help.  Still looking into that.

I did have everything unplugged but it failed each time I tried to uninstall.  I did get it to work when I ignored the instruction and wrote over the old driver with the updated driver.

Sloppy midi timing is rampant across people groups and interface brands / types.
So don't feel too bad.

what about trying the new WASAPI driver ?
It might yield a working set up if nothing else.
