My suggestion will be to add a midi chain for hardware just like the Fx chain but the knobs and sliders will be to send midi message to specific hardware.
What does this solve?
Well some synth and foot pedals accepts midi message to move parameters but they are useless if there is not an interface in the computer to move them. So I guess it will be nice to configure this like an Fx chain and now you can assign them to knobs or buttons or sliders on you hardware.
I don't know if this is to difficult or not.
