You're going to find it very difficult using 2 different interfaces simultaneously. It doesn't usually work as you need to synchronise the clock in each one.

The ASIO spec provides for. Only one device at a time. Multiple devices from the same vendor can be used if the driver is written to mak that possible.

Hi Mudgel, Thanks for your reply, I wasn't actually clear about that in my post so sorry about that, but I don't intend to use the 2 interfaces at the same time. All my work is done as overdubs, so I wouldn't be recording midi and audio at the same time. Don't know if that makes a difference.
Andrew

Understood. Even having the 2 devices connected can cause problems in that Windows interrogates the device and presents them in it own order and Sonar may not see them both. This might be a problem if that's not the device you want to work with. Just beware and look out in case you do get issues, these are the areas to troubleshoot.

Hi guys, I have recently been looking at upgrading some stuff in my home set up and have been looking at the SPL crimson and the audient id22 and I have a few questions if anyone can answer them it would be great.
Well first off I'm favouring the SPL crimson as it has midi in and out (currently I use the roland quad capture, maybe I could use that alongside the audient as my midi interface?)
Secondly the SPL has a dedicated mono button, I am going to get an avantone mixcube, (just one) for mono listening and with the spl I can switch to alternative monitor and then switch to mono, giving me proper mono listening on the avantone. I was wondering is this possible with the audient if I make use of one of the 'F' buttons?
And thirdly, The SPL has dedicated line inputs which bypass the preamps altogether, do the send and return inserts provide the same function on the Audient. Been looking this stuff up but would like to hear first hand from someone who might have used the audient as such.
The things like talk back and different headphone mixes are not a big deal to me. The big things are monitor controlling, ( flipping from my nearfields to the single avantone) and line inputs bypassing the internal preamps for using an external preamp. I'mm pretty sure it's ok to use the quad capture solely as a mid interface alongside the audient as my audio interface.
Thanks a mill,
Andrew

I am more or less in the same boat...looking for a AI upgrade from focusrite scarlet 2i2 to some thing better in terms of audio quality.I may not need more than 6 outputs but do need a.bmonitor controller.Curious to know what the OP finally decided to do.

I am in the process of returning an Audient id4 I thought would augment my interface needs - I wanted the direct monitoring for dubbing so one mic input wasn't a problem. BUT only one interface at a time with ASIO and trying to switch back and forth - fuggedda boud it!
