Unfortunately, some plug-ins are not so friendly...

Unless they are dongle based (i.e. UAD Apollo/Satellite, Waves license on a USB stick, iLok2 based auth)

"Dongle" that word itself sounds like a cuss word
Don't it ?

Well AD allows you two computers.
And the other day because of a stupid ( don't let scook see that) Windows 10 update I had to remove my main DAW using the XLN installer and put it back again. I think that you could do this as many times as you like, The biggest hassle is that online installer is real buggy and crashes a few time before its finally is OK

Yes dongles. I can move Wave Lab or Cubase to any computer as long as you install the elicence software too and then move the dongle. The hassle is the dongle takes up a USB port which sucks on laptops.

So my plan is to use AD2 only on my main DAW and this laptop for live playback.

 What's $50 to a musician?

$50 bucks too me equals the $1500 plus bucks worth of my time, effort and knowledge that it took me to make the 50 bucks in the first place ...

Oh btw , I like the specs of the new HS

all the best,

Thanks for the image, Johnny. I'll feel right at home showing it to my wife.

Well for me the weirdness seems to be every time windows does an update it wants me to authorise my computer again.  I open the online installer and it wants to update, then it goes blank and I have to log on again. After 10 minutes it works. This has been on 2 different computers, one W7 one W10.

If academic licences are available for this product I may try to pursuade my employers to purchase one or more copies.

This is nice for me because many times I will show my rig to some musician who hints that he would like a pirate copy of what I have. This gives me a nice way to refer in an affordable solution for them and gets me out of  a difficult situation.

Well you cannot pirate Sonar anymore unless someone gives you there log on info.
This was why they change the system to what it is now. On line installers.
And yes , For $50 this is a great package that is all you really need to get started.
I'm going to run a project fro start to finish on HS and post to the song forum.
I've installed it to a new computer I just inherited and they's no other software on it. So no cheating.
