  • When using a single plug (Sampletank 3) how can I freeze just one part?

I am using a single instance of ST3, but whenever I try to freeze one track, it seems to freeze all parts? Is there some way to get Sonar to only freeze the particular track?

Thanks

I've tried doing this in the past and have found there is really no way around it.
I believe they recently incorporated smart swipe for freezing tracks yet we still have no means of freezing separate midi data for "All synth outputs".

As a workaround, you can Bounce to Track in place, and mute the output in the synth UI or the MIDI track that drives it.

Thanks guys - after several failed attempts I suspected this would be the case. I will try those work-arounds suggested.

Cheers

PS: Reason I want to do it is so I can apply audio efx to particular tracks, outside the efx available in ST3 :)

You can apply real-time FX to individual output channels of a multitimbral synth in real time, assuming you have a separate audio track for each output (or stereo pair) from the synth; it sounded from your description like you do. As I'm sure you know, this is standard operating procedure for using multi-out synths, not only to allow selective application of FX, but to allow mixing outside the synth.

hmmm, no I don't think I do. I have the ST3 track and then just the MIDI tracks underneath that using ST3 as the output.

Might have to look that up as it must be something I am failing to do.
