I have followed the directions for Printing Your Notation.  It used to work.  Now it doesn't.

Under the File Menu, the Print and Print Preview links are grayed out.

Is this because one of my toner cartridges in the HP CP1525nw printer is 'very low', and it is the HP printer that is telling Sonar not to print?

Or is this a Sonar bug?

Thank you,
Stephen.

If it used to work then it clearly isn't a bug.

Even if it was, you have zero chance of getting it fixed as support for X1 was dropped years ago.

Can you print anything else to the printer? Try a simple text document.

This is a 4 toner color laser printer.  I have replaced the 2 toners (Cyan and Yellow) that were low.  So now all 4 toners are at peak.  I selected this color laser printer as the default printer in Windows 10.

I deleted all of the tracks except for my Tenor track with lyrics, and then Save As'd the file to MIDI 0 format.  Inputted the file into MuseScore 2, and was able to print the staff view of the Tenor track.  I am not familiar with MuseScore 2, and so was surprised to see the print bounce between Treble Clef and Bass Clef.

So yes, the printer works and can handle a staff view print.

This has got to be a problem with Sonar X1.  Thanks for telling me that support has been discontinued.  So I will remove Sonar X1 from my computer and reinstall from the DVDs.  (I always get the physical medium when buying high priced software.)

Thanks for the reply, Bristol_Jonesey

Silly me.  Some where along the line my Taskbar shortcut got set to X1, when I had been running Sonar X3 Producer.

Launching Sonar X3 with the MIDI file, I was able to print the staff view.

Thanks All for considering my problem.
Stephen.
