I have been looking through the shortcuts for Cakewalk, Reason, Reaper, Realband and Biab.  The way short cuts are organized between Sequencer companies is very different.  So my feeling is that Reaper has the clearest Labeled Short cut and I will use that as the guide to learning the shortcuts involved in Cake.  Reason I feel is pretty disorganized.   I will share more when items stand out.  But my question is Are keyboard shortcuts and Macros the same thing?  or are their differences.  I'm off to look at Biab and Realband now.

Simply put,
Shortcuts are hotkeys to execute a menu command using one key.
Macros are a series of commands executed by a hotkey.

Macros are CAL files - or a list of instructions that can manipulate selected MIDI data.

Keyboard shortcuts are a single key or a combination of keys (CTRL/ALT/SHIFT + key)  assigned to cakewalk functions (not necessarily menu options)

It should be noted that Keyboard shortcuts can be assigned to CAL scripts.
