Has anyone with the Waves Gold bundle come up with a workable way to manage them within Sonar Platinum? I'm trying to avoid getting a massive pop-up list when inserting an effect, and still easily be able to see all the other available plugins or quickly get to one that is used a lot.

I'm guessing that a custom layout would be the way to go as I cannot achieve what I want with the existing layouts:
- by manufacturer - all Waves plugins in one massive list
- by category - better but the dynamics list goes off the screen and I cannot easily find a particular manufacturer's plugin that I use a lot
- by type - same issue as by manufacturer

Any ideas?
Thanks
ZT

There is really no other way except using the plug in manager to organize your layout.
the bright side is.. you do it once and never have to do it again.

What Chuck said. I just wish we could create sub-menus for better grouping, but alas, you just have to name your folders appropriately and split them if your menu is longer than you would like.

Wit the new Browser enhancements Cakewalk added a few versions ago, you can categorize the plugins and search the Browser, but I still like having my custom menus right in the FX bin...

Basically use the Plugin Manager and create folders for the various types of plugins that came in the bundle.  This is the way that Cakewalk has their plugin already managed.  Just follow their lead.  Compressors, gates, reverbs, Dynamics,... and the like.

Ditto - I also created a '_Favorites' category that stays at the top of the list.  I tag my most frequently used plugs of all types as '_Favorite' so I can find them really quick.

I grabbed Gold last year - great bundle.  Every time I see that unwieldy list, I'm reminded of what a great deal I got

Thanks for the responses guys.

Looks like I need to invest a bit of time making a layout that works for me.
Good idea about the _Favourites category for the things I use regularly.
I must admit that I did gulp when I did the first plugin scan after installing Gold!
The count almost tripled from what I already had!

Picked up Gold yesterday. You're right the plugin lists are huge. Unbelievable for $143 - I need to invest serious time getting know these tools, and getting manageable plugin lists.

You can easily add sub-folders. I do it with mine.

Oh Ya, that video is an oldie but a goodie.
Most of it still applies now, there is just more features to choose from using the browser.
