Seriously, if you're having random, constant issues with Platinum you may be looking in the wrong place for a solution. I put SONAR Platinum through its paces almost every day for hours and don't have problems. Period. The most I'll get is a freeze from a 32-bit plug-in trying to be happy in a 64-bit world, and even that is rare.
Bottom line: We're using the same software. We're NOT using the same hardware. Logic would dictate that the reason for my having a great experience and you having a bad one lies in the elements we don't have in common, not the ones we do.
[Edit] Actually maybe we aren't using the same software. Are you using ASIO4ALL?
I'm not even mad about this, I'm just how it is... What "this post is about" bothers me when I have issues and the bakers are playing with a forum editor for a lam at best idea, and considering maybe 30% of the features and ideas that have been presented now have been implemented. Why would they not want to work on those.
But what I see is that the Bakers are starting to work on a new DAW and want all the new feature ideas to put into that. its simple logic... in order to implement many of the ideas I had asked for and seen up here. You have to start with a new foundation. So new DAW. Whirl pool did the same thing in the 80s so they could replace people with robots... I call it bate and switch. Sure I will tell you how a disabled person can do my job in a hi level of detail, then Whirl pool could hire disabled people. Yea, the other employees thought I was nuts... but within a few years they where all out of work...
I really wont mind if CW offers a new DAW but they better fix this one "this time" before moving on... CW has never done that...
I'm using Tascam 1800 and 1200 (win 8.1) with newest ASIO drivers on two systems and Lexicon Alpha with ASIO newest Drivers on my portable system. (Win 10)
Now if 2016 9 worked with my Tascam 1800 and then 2016 10 timing is off by many seconds, that's a sonar issues and after rolling back it works again... that's splat issues. 32 bit freeze is that like the Bit Bridge?
And my random issues come and go as Spat versions change... I just noticed now that the pause button will hang the system. I did put up my recent issues that I remember., Some are new some have been ongoing.
and that's the facts. and I can spend hours working in Sonar with no issues. But it depends on what I'm working on.
Bottom line is, in reality your using far beyond system requirements to run Sonar. I'm even above "system requirements." So why issues that no one else gets? and you can check my issues here well in regard to Splat. I admit if its me or find a work around. and there are still things that just don't work for no reason. they are posted as well. also if I didn't care about the future of CW I would just move on. BUT I want this DAW to take off!
But if it doesn't work, people will know it and not buy! I don't just come here to make up stuff! these are real issues! It's not like I'm new to this, and yup I only use what I need. But considering the amount of problems I have only using 20% of Splat. seems like a lot to me. Record analog / Edit / Mix / Master...
But I'll tell you right now that these system requirements wont cut it. IMO:
