I would be surprised if you had not heard this before Passive Drift, but one glaring point I would comment on is that you seem to still be using 32bit plugins in Sonar X64 via bit bridge.  This is hit and miss at best. Since changing over to exclusively 64bit plugins in a 64bit environment Sonar has been rock solid for me. Give it a try and see what happens.

I just looked and I have one 32 bit VST (Mic Mod) installed though I have the 64 bit version installed as well...
A surprise to me as well. ;)

EDIT: I should point out that this ^ is on my Win 10 system (the one that crashed out of Splat) yesterday when closing a plugin... So it's not the bit bridge if I was using 64 bit plugs... :)

Got it. It was your mention of bit bridge in your first post that made me think you were still using 32bit plugins.
Having them installed won't affect projects that you don't use them in.

I do mostly make backing tracks,, but I also record our band live using 13 tracks and midi. It has always worked. And that's on a 2 core 2008 Laptop with 4 Gigs of RAM. SSD and W7.   And that is recording whole 1 hour sets non stop.
I then dump them to my main DAW and go at it with plug ins etc. Always works...
Last blue screen I had was caused by a bad Video driver. It's all about good hardware and knowing the limitations of what it can do. And I'll agree that Sonar has some little bugs,, they just know better than to bug me...:)

lol
I Wanted to first say that I do and have always respected you and you have helped me a few times.
I even went to your site a few months back. I'm Very impressed with what you have done and do...
I'm not trying to be a smarty paints or anything... I try to maintain these days I like may people here...
But there are things goin on that are bugs and they happen to be in what I use... go figure... ha!
I have said all I have to say about this...
Now???
So you are recording with Splat on a two core system? I have also recorded my friends band, well I was the sound guy too but I used a netbook with HS8. worked out great..  lol

I really don't know what the _ _ _  now a new issue... I'll post it over there. lol

Yea I was surprised , I jumped to that as nothing else seemed to fit.. figuring it was a bit bridge thing...
I know that my Dell is newer so I must have just put 64 bit plugs on it. my other two systems have 32 bit plugs... but I really don't use them. all new 64 bit as well... But I don know in the past I have had issues with the bit bridge... Like I said in that post.. I just rattled off a bunch of things I could remember...  that I have problems with... but that said...this new Features area is just a bunch of law waste... and like I also said a waste of Barkers talent... :)

peace!

I keep a totally updated copy of SPLAT on this old Sony laptop just for live recording, I also use it for playback of my backing tracks and displaying lyrics as a back up to my Netbook.

When recording the band the template is pretty basic as far as plug in go and I have all bins in bypass mode.

You'll see I added an edit to post #64 to acknowledge your rant as being legit here in this thread, I'll agree that the Bakers should be baking and not spending time fussing about with a web site,, hopefully they hire extra people to accomplish that. It's looking more and more like marketing strategies to me..

I just bought Home Studio as I am seeking something solid, dependable and without a million distractions.. I really don't like the monthly updates because it means stopping work for about 30 minutes while CCC goes round and round. I just figured out how to delete all the options I'll never download and will see if that speeds it up.
