Our family has been big E reader fans since the first Kobo came out. My wife is on her 3 version, the Kobo Glow, She can read in bed without keeping me awake! I have a Aluratek reader that reads most formats. My Daughter has Kindle.
We find E books easier on the eyes and the pocket book. You sign up for e mails and there are always new books on sale for as low as $4.00. There are zillions of free books and the public library lends them out.
Everybody who uses an E book should also use Calibre.
http://calibre-ebook.com/ Calibre will convert and manage your books without all the bullsitting that the Kobo manager does, you can use Calibre to read any format as well. I have Scotts kindle X1 book and it covers a lot that is still relevant. The update will be excellent for me. I open it n my laptop while learning something new.
