Hello all. I have recently bought a new AD pack. I start a new project in Sonar Platinum, insert AD2 in a new track. But there are no sounds coming out. I can see midi activity when I press a key on my keyboard but no sounds. If I use the stand alone version, I can hear sounds - just not in a project in Platinum. I have rescanned plugins. Any help appreciated.

Just to add, if I play older projects with AD2 in it, I can hear sounds.

First are you sure that the key you are pressing is triggering something in AD?

Second can you get a pattern to play and hear it from the beats menu?

Hi Dave. Nope I can't get a pattern to play either. I am using Win 8.1

same prob here sometimes, vu meters going but no sound.
then if I re-insert AD2 as 'simple instrument track' it works ok.
one of the things imo Cakewalk could improve is the VST inserts...often can't get it working properly.

When you say VU meters do you mean the meter on the audio track or the midi track.  The midi track meter just indicates midi activity.

Check on the FX screen in AD2 to make sure your master fader in AD2 is up.  Make sure you have routed the midi out to an audio track.  Also, make sure you have routed the audio track output to a bus or your master outs.

thanks Dave, for explaining and writing your help.
just tried to reproduce it but unfortunately.
must indeed be some routing or setting, now indeed I remember from an earlier fail that indeed it was someting in AD, had to activate the AD outputs ore something.
But other than that had routing / no sound issues with other soft synths too, for people like me would be great if it was a bit more 'plug and play' / idiot proof
Hence maybe the succes of Fruity Loops.
Anyway, I'll shut up now since this is not my thread...

If you are using multi outs you will need to activate them in the FX screen.

Sorted now. When I inserted AD2, I only had it on 'midi source'. Changed it create a Simple Instrument Track and all was well. Thanks everyone.
