  • Is the Waves Abbey Road plugins worth having?

I bought the J37 the other day (because tape sims are fun even if I rarely use them). I noticed the ADT and REDD are both $29 right now too.
Any of you guys have these? Are they anything more than redundant?

I have all the Waves plugins which I use with my Digigrid/Soungrid DSP system to off load fx processing from my PC to the Digigrid Server. The whole Abbey Road Suite is excellent and where someone might use the ProChannel I could use Abbey Road. They are really quality plugins.

Totally agree with Mike here.  I started out buying one plugin for $29 and ended up with 15 now!  They are all excellent and many are go to plugins for me now in all my mixes.

I don't have the whole Abbey Road suite but I do have J37, the plates and the TG12345 channel strip.  I love all of them in fact.  The Abbey Road plates are also excellent too.  It is sublime reverb that sounds quite different to all the other reverbs I have.  Lovely on vocals.  Just got that sound immediately.

Lately I have been getting into the Brauer Motion plug which is also seriously amazing!

I have the Plates, The REDD and the TG12345.  I find the TG12345 AMAZING.  If you're looking for the Beatles "Abbey Road" sound then there it is.  Some plugins you have to strain to hear if it's doing anything. Not the TG.  Put it on a vocal track, load a preset and the magic happens.  A great purchase for the $99 I paid for it.  An absolute steal for $29.

The ADT and the TG12345 are the ones I'm thinking about. As a guitar player...the ADT might be fun. I'm not sure if there is another plugin that does what it does or not, but probably not for $29.

Waves ADT is my go to for that effect. Very cool.

They are all very much worth it, and the 2 you mention here are no exception. You can get a couple of free ADT type clones and they aren't bad at all, but I always use the Waves. TG12345 is very nice indeed.

I particularly like ADT and the plates.

King’s microphones I can do without, but the rest are the bomb!

IMHO, a guitar player should have the ADT. I had a few before but now have all but the  Kings Mikes. I got them at about $23, one at a time when the sales come around. pretty painless and really good to have. I want to get into the RS56 next and see what it has.
