  • [Solved] Sonar Platinum problem: opens, loads project, but is stuck on blue circle

I have a brand new Sonar Platinum installation on a brand new Win 10 computer, installed via Command Centre. Sonar opens, and I can open a project. But there is a blue 'thinking' or 'loading' circle and nothing works, even on a blank project. The circle is there indefinitely. No working transport on projects containing only audio. It would seem the installation must be bad. I only installed Sonar and its components, no D-Pro or Rapture or anything else yet. Is anyone else having this problem? Sonar is completely unusable. I've contacted support but of course after a month I've had no real help. I've already reset the computer (which reinstalls Windows) twice, and the problem comes back after each reset/Sonar installation. The only connected hardware (other than monitor and mouse) at this point is a Scarlett 6i6 which routes in/out from a mixing console, so it would be difficult to fathom a hardware compatibility issue. No solid state drives, nothing to cause this. I fear it may be a Command Centre issue? Again, any help is appreciated. -- Stephanie

Is there a dialogue box hidden somewhere? If you minimise sonar can you see anything?

Hard to know what your problem is but that can sometimes happen with my system if a sample library is missing on project loading or similar.

One of the things I try when I have a start-up problem is restarting the application using administrative privileges. The easiest way to do this is by right clicking the start-up app and selecting run as administrator.

Also, you don't have your system specs in your signature, are you sure you have enough resources?

Wow, thank you to those who answered! I continue to be amazed by this forum! I wanted to leave my solution to my problem here in case anyone else searches and is in need of the answer. Focusrite tech support was beyond amazing and the problem was the Scarlett 6i6 drivers. I was instructed to install Scarlett MixControl 1.9b10 (beta) in place of MixControl 1.8. That blue circle was an indication that the device was not communicating properly with Sonar. The fix is easy and worked perfectly, and I'm up and running again. :D Thanks again, everyone! Also, I'll gladly update my specs as suggested when I can work out how to do it. ;) It appears as if folks here have added those to a signature somehow. I'll suss it soon or wait for a reply. Thanks!!!

OK hopefully this will show the signature... I'm trying it out to see if I've done it right so folks can see my specs... here goes...
