Oops, someone hit the upload button too soon ? Oh well, nice to preview what's coming.
Craig, we'll still read your eZine . . . always look forward to it.

Thanks! Actually this is kind of cool because the eZine can concentrate on applications, like how to use the Lenses.

BTW the audio engine enhancement is off the hook - I'm getting 3 ms latency with a RealTek chip on a circa 2012 laptop...10 ms under shared mode with YouTube, Groove Music, and other Windows stuff open at the same time as SONAR.

The super-low latency (remember, with an onboard sound chip there are also no USB buffers) means when doing workshops I will never again have to carry around an ASIO interface! The only downside of that is fewer lively conversations with TSA agents about "what's that suspicious-looking box and why does your luggage have all those cables and batteries..."

If nothing else, I foresee the end of ASIO4ALL for SONAR users. Of course once that happens, forum activity about things not working will take a nosedive so the site's SEO will suffer. You take the good with the bad

They list "Open Synth From Track View" as a new feature, but that sounds like how it always worked.

I noticed here that the improvements seem to be to WASAPI audio. I am currently using ASIO with my focusrite 18i20. Is there any reason why I shouldn't be using WASAPI? I have just always used ASIO since using my old PODxt live as my audio interface back in the day.

So I updated the currently available options. I noticed that the media browser, under "Audio Library" the audio clips are now organized better. There are two new sub-folders, one is Backing Tracks the other is FX. Also, the Loops and One Shots folders now contain sub-folders organized by type of sound (i.e. HiHats, Snares etc)

The best part? There is a file in the backing track folder called 90 Canadian Alternative - Em which sounds just like a Kingston band like the Hip or The Headstones! Gave me a real chuckle. :)
