hello:
 
i'm a long time sonar user and, after changing the connection method of my external soundcard cannot open previous projects. these hang whenever launched. here is a quick summary:
 

• Windows 7-64 & Sonar Platinum (both patched to current)
• No anti-virus beyond built-in Microsoft Security Essentials
• Soundcard connection interface changed from Lynx Aurora FireWire to USB 2.0
• Windows is able to see and use soundcard correctly (e.g., Windows Media Player, etc.)
• Sonar sees ASIO I/O drivers properly in Preferences
• Sonar hangs when opening user projects, including older .cwts that have worked
• Projects hang when Sonar is started in Safe Mode and when projects are opened in File Recovery Mode with no plugins allowed
• Does not hang when opening Sonar demo projects (e.g., SONAR_AudioDemo.cwb)
• WDM drivers were not compatible- “unable to open record device”
• MME drivers ok, but projects hang in the same way
• Similar behavior to Aurora when testing with built-in soundcard (Realtek)

i have a case opened with support and am waiting their response. any help or additional suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi. Have you tried to hold down Shift while opening SONAR, to let it re personalize?

thanks for your time. i have tried that- both launching the sonar program and projects from within with shift held down  (which opens the program in safe mode and the project in file recovery mode, respectively, i believe). same hanging result.

I miss wrote. It is Shift + Ctrl, to re personalize
