I have just upgraded from X2 to Platinum
Lifetime updates were just TOO tempting.
I loaded a project, which worked fine in X2 yesterday...
I get a message telling me that AmpegSVX is not installed correctly..
I load up X2, load the same project - everything's fine.
Restart Platinum, load the project...same message regarding incorrectly installed AmpegSVX.
I go to IK Multimedia, down load the latest version, reinstall...
Same issues.
I have other x86 plugs in the project that work fine....
 
What am I not seeing?

By default Command Center installs 64bit SONAR
 
Is it possible X2 is 32bit and the new SONAR is 64bit?
 
Is X2 running as administrator?

My UserID is the administrator...I've never had to 'run X2 as administrator'

Does running as administrator make a difference? It is not the same as being in administrator group.

Er....yes it does!!!
Ran platinum 'as administrator' and project loads perfectly - no messages.
 
So I now have to 'Run as administrator' every time I use Sonar?

I have to believe you set X2 to run as admin a long time ago.
 
Right-click on the SONAR icon
Select Properties from the context menu
There is an option in the Settings section of the Compatibility tab to always run as administrator.
 
Why? There is probably something in the registry for Ampeg SVX which needs elevated privileges. If you could figure out which registry entries were involved, you could change the permissions there. IKM was developed Ampeg SVX for XP and Windows changed the security policy for some parts of the registry in newer OSes.

If i should have been 'running as adminstrator' then you must be right...Yes it would've been a long time ago (late 2012) I suspect...

X2 does not have 'Run this program as an administrator' checked
 
Platinum does now

That is suprising
At least the fix for Platinum was simple enough.
