  • Sonar X3 - clock keeps switching from "internal" to "audio" - why?

I have a piece - all MIDI - with various tempo points.
I keep adjusting these.
However, Sonar keeps switching the clock from internal to audio. Why is it doing this? How can I prevent this?

Presumably you listen to it through a digital to analogue interface, for the software to sync to the interface the clock has to sync to the interface otherwise it would just sound like distortion.

Okay - so the time variations are there - it just lists it as "audio" but is not locked yet(?).
Once you record audio, the tempi get locked.
Thanks - that is helpful.

Correct.  Once the Audio is recorded any tempo changes that occur in you MIDI get locked in as part of the AUDIO.
