Native Instruments have just released Maschine Jam - a new hardware platform that goes with the same Maschine software but is a departure from Mikro, Mk2 and Studio.

Looks like a lot of fun to me!

yeah, i've got my eyes on that too.  granted, i've never used a device like that (what looks to be a poor-man's Push II), but it looks like if i use that in conjunction with my Maschine MKI, it will open me up to a new mode of production.  the Maschine forum has been on fleek since the announcement; a lot of people are like "why don't you just get Push 2?" and i'm like, well, Live 9 Standard + Push 2 is like $1100.  many Maschine owners have been lobbying NI on the forum to give current owners a better crossgrade; hopefully NI takes those complaints into consideration since $399 is kinda too expensive for me right now.  though $299, i am all over that action!

Yes it is quite a lot of money, but NI stuff is really nice IMO.  There's always Black Friday ... maybe?

It's a shame about the negativity - people seem to get a kick out of sticking the knife in.  Not good for the soul!  But I guess we've got used to a higher standard of comment on the Sonar forums.  I don't think there are ulterior motives from them, I think NI (and Cakewalk) are good guys trying to make cool stuff and should be applauded.  They're not immune from making mistakes (dropping Kore comes to mind), but that's the human condition.
