Same issue for me too, my fellow Coloradoan (Aurora). Here's my breakdown,

ASUS G73JH Laptop
Line 6 POD HD500 (USB)
Windows 7 Home Prem. x64

I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice now and I get no audio options for my metronome. I made sure I checked the box for additional content when I installed, since I usually do custom installations of software. On subsequent attempts I did basic, or express installations and still, no audio options for the metronome.

I've looked into driver conflicts (?) and even with stock Windows drivers there's not an option in the drop-down boxes for metronome settings. I'm stumped!

Hi there,
I just registered as I'm trying out the 30 day trial and I have this problem with the metronome as well. Basically the the list is blank so I am unable to use the audio metronome. I tried pressing shift on start-up but that doesn't seem to work. Does anybody else have a suggestion?

Hi   here is the solution.
Please go to your Windows Start Menu and click "Run".  At the prompt, type or paste the following:

%APPDATA%/CAKEWALK

This is where you will find the metronome sounds. Copy them and paste into   C/sonarx1trial/metronome.

I have no experience with the trial version...but...my experience with the metronome is that the wav files for the metronome sounds aren't relocateable.  (I've been wrong before though.)

They start out life in...

c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Cakewalk\SONAR<version>\Metronome

...and then are copied, after you first open SONAR, to your user's account in...

c:\Documents and Settings\<userID>\Application Data\Cakewalk\SONAR<version>\Metronome

If they aren't there...SONAR has no way to find them.  Note that this is true for XP.  I have no idea what happens with Vista or Win7.

If you still haven't found your wav files, trying doing a "scorched earth" search from the C:\ root out, for "UREI 964 Click 1.wav".  (You could also try Beep.wav, but there's a chance that there might be an unrelated file by that name somewhere on your system.)

Howdy - In Preferences - Project - Metronome, there is a drop-down box in Audio Metronome, labelled 'Output'.  Make sure this isn't set to 'None', but rather to some other output from the drop-down list.  I just send the output to 'Master', which is one of the choices.

I'm not sure if this matches your situation, but it is something to remember anyway.

Good luck with it all!

I detest the metronome sounds. I have used them a few times  out of curiosity,  but mostly not.

I simply drag a few drum loops in and stretch them out as far as needed. Or I use Jamstix to play the beat. It sounds better and to me, it's easier to hear over the music to keep in time.
