Guys, I'm trying to layering my snare track with Steven Slate Drums 4 using a Midi track generated by Drum Replacer. Somehow I realize, some hits from SSD4 doesn't match accurately with the original snare track (the timing of the transients of from the orginal track and SSD4 slightly different and give me flam-like effect. I don't know how exactly Drum Replacer / ARA works but I assuming it generates the midi data by detecting the threshold of the transients of the original track but can't align the peak transient of the original track with the peak trainsient of the samples like Slate Trigger nor Drumagog does. Any idea how to align the peaks so it sit perfectly with the original snare track? Or should I go back to Drumagog/Slate Trigger?

Drum replacer uses ARA and replaces the original with a layered SFZ sample.
Im not sure in your case drum replacer is going to be the most productive method.
because you will need to drag a slate sample to DP in order to get the sample aligned.
 
your best bet might be to use Autosnap to grab the transient of the snare (for example),
then turn that Autosnap data in to a midi note. thus will trigger slate drums to play the note.
I did this for years before drum replacer and I still do it now in many cases such as yours
(when using samples that are not SFZ).

I'm not sure how to do those things you mentioned (grab the transients and convert it to midi). I'll Google it, but it sounds like too much hassle. I usually use Drumagog & Slate Trigger, but I like the idea of Drum Replacer convert the snare transients into midi data by dragging it a midi track, so I can edit the velocities for more consistent yet dynamic snare hits. Unfortunately, this great tool would be useless if the transients not aligned accurately for layering. If you're a Drumagog / Slate Trigger user, you can see it visually how they load the samples based on the peak of the transients when Cakewalk Drum Replacer read the beginning of the transients. Maybe it would do a better job for replace the drum completely instead of layering (hence the name).

Your extracting the transients and converting them to Midi.
But do as you wish. im simply suggesting a more effective route.
