Greetings All,
Does anyone here play around with plugin upsampling in the AUD.INI file in Sonar Platinum?

The short of it -
Does anyone here know how to look up the CLSID number for VST and VST3 plugins?

The whole story -
Having read Craig Anderton's SOS (US) September "Technique / Sonar" article,
I'm finally taking a look at editing the "up-sampling on render" within the AUD.INI file.

At the end of his article, Craig refers the reader to Sonar's help files on upsampling.

In the HELP file, on the "Plugin>UpSampling" page, it shows an example of the
[PlugInUpsampler] section of the AUD.INI file and refers to the CLSID numbers.

I noticed that in Plug-In Manager, the DirectX plugins have a box in the bottom of the display labeled "CLSID".
And that number is what is displayed under the [PlugInUpsampler] section of the AUD.INI file. Perfect.

Unfortunately - Plug-In Manager does not display the CLSID number for VST and VST3 files.
It only shows "Vendor" and "VST ID" - neither of which match the CLSID.
(It's not shown in the main window, nor the Plug-In Properties, nor the Details windows...)

I have a page worth of CLSID numbers shown in the [PlugInUpsampler] section of the AUD.INI file, with no
way to know which plugins are which...

Which brings me back to:
Does anyone here know how to look up the CLSID number for VST and VST3 plugins??

Thanks!

Try the SONAR Plug-in Upsample Editor. It is listed in the Sonar Resources and Utilities thread, direct download link

Thank you scook!!!

This is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered.

I was even able to easily alter two plugins from BOTH to RENDER...man, that's cool....!!
(And only one out of 60 plugins not recognized - I can live with that!)

BAKERS - PLEASE - add this utility to the Plug-In Manager!

Maybe I'm "Ol' Skool" just by using the PIM over the browser, but to me, it just feels easier to use...
yeh, OK, I am ol' ...er.... older in this School of Cake, but I'm certain that the PIM is
over-due for a face-lift and an update...

Even if a simple button is added to PIM to launch this utility, it'd make a great update feature!!

Thanks again for this wonderful utility scook... VERY cool!!!

I can't modify the PIM but it is possible to add Spue to the same menu used to access the PIM. Add SONAR Plug-in Upsample Editor as a generic type. If you want a tool to maintain the Tools section of the utility menu, try SONARToolsEditor. It is on the same post as the SONAR Plug-in Upsample Editor. Here is the direct download link for SONARToolsEditor.

I will definitely do this - for now.

Here's to a PIM upgrade and long-awaited facelift!!

Cheers,
