That's right, you heard right.  I "select all" and when I click export, the program crashes every time. I get the fault reporter. I've tried many projects, even simple ones, just clicking "export audio" crashes it. Thoughts? Thanks.

What are you trying to accomplish? I can't think of a scenario where selecting all and exporting would be the preferred procedure.

I'm trying to export a .wav file, like the roughly 2.000 .wav files I've exported since Pro Audio 9. :) I don't have to "select all"- if I even click "export audio", Sonar crashes.

A bit more info: The past 2 updates (not the current one) were crash city, couldn't load a project. I could roll back to before those updates and it worked fine. The latest update plays/works fine. It's only when I tried exporting audio that I get the crash.

you might try listing your specs if you want an answer that isn't 2.000 guesses before you get to the bottom of your problem.
seriously. it could be a hardware issue, a driver error which I find is more often than not the problem when you cant export (your device is crashing and wont complete the task). or a plug in that's dated and causing the task to fail before it can complete the export.

Can you bounce within sonar ?

Didn't you have this same problem a year ago ?

Yes.

Specs- Windows 10, 8gigs ram, I5. All other audio related programs (Sibelius, Wavepad etc.) work fine.

As I said, I can roll back 3 updates and it works fine, so that should eliminate any driver/device issues. My guess is that something happened 2 updates ago and it's never worked since. I've been busy with Sibelius projects and didn't really have time to deal with it til now. I thought this latest update had resolved the problems, until I tried to export.  Thanks for the help.

We certainley have exported ten thousends of files within the last 3 months. Because we digitaze tapes and vinyl for customers. Always with the latest version from Sonar on three computers.
But always without "64-bit Engine" and always with disabled plugins. But all other options are clicked.
That must be up to hardware or a misterious plugin. Some old versions from Waves don't work anymore since the 2 last versions from Sonar. Something has changed the last 2 versions. For a test I would try to delete all plugins.
But RESTART the project after you have deletet all plugins !!
If this doesnt work, it must be up to drivers or hardware.

What about your Audio devise ? / soundcard ?
as each new update is added, Cakewalk uses up to date Windows updates.
is it possible you are behind on a few updates ?

Is this not the preffered way to do a mixdown in/from Sonar..?

I had an issue a while back in which I had crashes on export. Unchecking 'Quick Bounce' let me
export things until I got the problems sorted out. If the program plays back for you
perhaps this would be a work around for you.

(My issues had to do with some 32 bit plugs that didn't play nice with newer
Sonar updates. Finally moved up to 64 bit auto-tune)
