I have been using a couple different piano vsts(8Dio,Soundiron) via Kontakt 5 on various projects.  At the end of the song when Sonar stops, I get this noise that sounds like the sustain pedal is being depressed.  I thought there must be some cc#64 midi information tailing to the end of the song, so I shortened it to stop at the end of the piano track(which stops before the end of the song).  I have also tried automated mute as a work around and that does not work.  The only solution so far is to manually mute the entire VST folder.  I've also tried shortening up some other midi data to no avail.  Oddly enough when soloing the track you can also hear this same noise when pressing the space bar to play the track.
 
Any ideas what I am missing?  Is there something within Kontakt?
 
It happens on multiple projects and I would guess has something to do with either the vst or Kontakt.  It does not do it using True Pianos.
 
Update:  you can also hear the noise when using the "play,"stop" buttons in the transport.
Muting just the midi track individually: you can only hear the sound when stopping.  It is silent when starting.
Muting both the midi and audio track: no noise at all. Or muting just the audio track there is no noise.

what are using for a soundcard ? could it be possibly related to buffer size ?

Its a Focusrite 6i6.  Buffer is really low at 2ms.  But I'm not sure how that would matter.
 
Just finding out that moving the "current time" to a point at which the sustain pedal is being used creates the noise.  Its  definitely the cc#64 pedal noise.  But literally just moving the current time to various parts in the song makes the noise.
 

Now that you mention it, I have heard this noise too - but only recently. I too use Kontakt with a couple of piano libraries. I will pay more attention to when it happens.
 
Chuck could be onto something wth buffer size as IIRC I only heard it whilst tracking with low buffers. I don't recall hearing it during bouncing/mixdown with higher buffers. I will take more notice in the studio tomorrow. Until you mentioned it I had chalked it up to a quirk of the project I am currently working on.

Well, I guess some good news...it does not appear to transfer to a mix down.  Just mixed the entire song down to mp3 and you can not hear the pedal noise at the end of the song.

Found this thread, but I'll be damned if I can make heads or tails of what they are talking about and how it would relate to Sonar.

Hearing that noise on stop would likely be due to having Zero Controllers on Stop enabled in Preferences. A poorly programmed synth might make a pedal/damper noise even when the controller is already zeroed.
 
But I can't think what would cause that noise on starting playback unless maybe you have MIDI controller automation envelopes in the track...?
 
I'll have to see if I can reproduce it.

It is definitely only during playback - I have never heard it in a mixdown.  
 
I generally untick zero all controllers as it interferes with a couple of synths that I use. That said it is a per project setting and could explain why I have only heard this recently. I will check that too tomorrow.
