Well, the budget-end, bus-powered models are.  The others are due out later this month.

This series already sold well.  With the cleaner specs and lower latencies, they just upped their game big-time!

Too bad the new drivers for the old models have been in BETA for over a year... guess it's out with the old (though they didn't tell me it was old at the time...

I'll pass.  Over two years since they released official drivers for the ridiculously unreliable 18i20.

Focusrite drivers are fair to good at best, they certainly are not great. I too had to use some "beta" version for a short while. I had trouble getting up and running but support was very prompt and directed me to the beta version. The web site was of no help and it seems a little loose to have to contact support for something that could have easily been simply put up on the web site with the "beta version" tag like other companies often do.  And I would have liked to have seen further updates to. RTL is not that great with this line due to the hidden buffer common to budget interfaces. But at least the drivers are solid and other than the pour RTL performance I have no issues.

My next interface will probably be another Tascam. Seems they are progressing nicely. I do not like the Scarlett pre amps and Mix Control has always been beyond my grasp.

My 6i6 has been fine, but Focusrite really needs to step up the driver game. There is no way it is acceptable to take this long to update their drivers. Plus the update is really just getting them up to spec, like supporting multi-channel WDM and WASAPI devices and so on. I don't dislike them, but they aren't a top pick for me these days for sure.

DEVILS ADVOCATE:

my guess would be that they knew they were coming out with the 2nd generation,
and that would address the immediate drivers issues, so they waited to update until the new product had been approved.

I can not get Scarlett Solo 2nd Gen to record without dropouts in Sonar Platinum. Even when I set buffer to maximum (1040). It happens even when I am using a single audio track.

I have an i5 with 16g ram laptop

Every thing is working fine in Adobe Audition.

Anybody else having problems?

Anybody have any solutions to try?

8/31/16 UPDATE: Focusrite tech support pointed me to a newer driver (4.13) that is not on their website yet. This helped a lot for getting smaller projects to record without drop out.

Hi.
I have a Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 module and I have not had any bad thing to say about It.
The drivers are rock solid and work at 5 milliseconds without any problems
This second generation cannot be much Improvement on the old or 1st generation

All the best
John
