I believe she has a great voice. I believe the mix is super cool. I believe the tune is well arranged and holds interest throughout the piece.

I also believe the volume of the snare, and the kick, could come up a little, particularly in the jam-groove parts when she isn't singing. I believe the snare sounds like it's in an adjacent room.

But most importantly, I believe these are personal creative mix choices and you have made so many good ones on this song!

This is what I believe.

Mike - thank you! :)

Douglas - I agree with you on the kick and snare. I'm burnt out on mixing this one and ready to create something new. I'm thinking about letting a friend do a stem master and see if he can't improve the mix without me really needing to dig back into the mix...

thanks for your honesty! :)

I'm a sucker for that delayed guitar sound so it drew me right in. Works perfectly with the arps and Grace's vocals are the icing on the cake. What a fine track with a pro-sounding mix.

Thanks so much for listening and providing feedback - I very much appreciate it! :)  I absolutely LOVE playing guitar with delay - so much so that I don't often play guitar WITHOUT delay.

Grace said she's excited to sing on the next one so I better get to work...

My 2 cents on the next song:  More of that guitar (like the big hit in the beginning) and more Grace!

James,

Everything sounded real good to me Your song took me on a nice ride .
Dug the delayed guitars , the songs arrangement and mix .
The singer voice was right on and perfect for the song  .
Loved the well placed Stephen Hawking  Cameo . Hey you never know,  he might dig being a Rock Star ...

all the best,

Kenny

Thanks Kenny! Definitely inspired by Pink Floyd when it came to using Hawkings. :)  I really appreciate your comment about a "nice ride" - that's the type of music I enjoy listening to - the stuff that takes you on journeys...

Thanks! I'm working up some ideas now but I let my guitar chops fade a bit the last few months; the song parts are cool but I can't quite play them well enough yet! lol

Absolutely love the song! The vocals sound excellent, as do the guitars and arps. There are a couple of power chords I'm not sure are sitting correctly, but that is minor.

If it were me, I would bring up the kick/snare and bass while routing them through a separate mix bus with a little extra compression and bottom EQ to add a little bit more weight to the mix, not too much though...

Regards,
Dan
