Hi Craig. This post actually reminded me to order the second big book (which I just did). Thanks.

In this new book, the examples and techniques you describe use only plugins included in CbB?

What if I own also pugs that were included in Sonar?

My case: I own Sonar X2 Producer. What would be best for me to purchase: both older books or the new one?

Yes, it's CbB-specific.

Great question! I'd recommend downloading CbB (it really is better than the older versions). If you leave X2 Producer on your system, CbB will recognize the various plug-ins. So, the two SONAR books would be most relevant to you. There is some Platinum-specific material, like about Melodyne, but I'd estimate that if you use CbB, at least 85% of the two older books will be relevant.

For those considering, I got both some time ago, it's a Bible, takes you to the next level, inspires new song ideas. Definitely worth more than I paid for

A bit expensive now for £ buyers especially as it's only a PDF.

What does it cost in pounds? In the US it's $19.95, which would be (I think) 16 pounds?

Bear in mind it's over 400 pages, and even though it has the same basic material as the first two books, there was a lot of editing involved to make it CbB-specific, update screen shots, etc. I hired a copy editor for this one, it took her two weeks. I have to at least make enough to cover the expenses.

If it wasn't a PDF, the shipping for a 400-page book would cost more than the book itself :)  Also the cost of color printing on almost every page would be astronomical. I offered it to a book publisher, but they said "no way." They're probably smarter than I am
