Good Day, small question?

Is it possible to assign a second key, than the space bar to this function?, i.e., one that rewinds, and one that stops, (aside from having to press "shift" spacebar).

Cheers

I once assigned keyboard shortcuts to my number pad 7 << to REW and my 9 >> FF.
this was before I used a control surface. it gave me a quick fix and believe it or not, it was very handy.
just go to preferences and keyboard shortcuts. there is a slew of functions.

as for your question, im confused as weather you want the now time to stop at your previous marker, or you want to use something other than the spacebar to control the transport.
be more specific.

Good point. I'm not sure either.

Yes, you can assign any key to "Rewind to Now Marker on Stop" or "Stop with Now Marker" via Preferences > Customization > Keyboard Shortcuts.

Type i.e. "stop" in the Search field under Global Bindings to find this function.

Hi Thanks,
i guess maybe my question wasn't clear, I realize w returns to 0, or start of track/file, regardless of where now time marker was placed, and space bar may be set in track options to either, stop where/when pressed, or return to where now time marker was last placed, and holding shift key and pressing space bar will do the opposite of what option is selected, and inadvertently pressing space twice returns it to 0 also, and/or to start of looped section.

However, what Im asking is, if I can have 2 different keys assigned simultaneously, one that will "rewind" play-head to where now time marker was last placed, (e.g., "spacebar") and one to stop play-head and remain at that point (e.g. "enter" key), rather than having to hold shift/spacebar, or return to option menu and change to one or the other.  I use this example because a video editing software I use functions in this way in edit window, however this software also effectively sets 2 set points, the last set playback point (spacebar) selected with mouse/cursor on timeline, and the most recent stop/edit point (enter) and toggles between them, this would be ideal, but not expecting this in this question.
Suffice it to say Im often annoyed to point of yelling profanities, and upsetting the wife, LOL, In any case Id find it more effective for me, if possible having 2 separate keys assigned to these 2 separate functions.

I'm afraid you cannot.  I tried all of the options earlier today without success.  It takes two key presses - either concurrent as is the default ctl+space or in sequence e.g. space bar then w.  AFAIK, the command to "stop and rewind to Now Marker" is not available for binding.  I think it would be handy to have the option though.

Thanks, for verifying this as I had tried, and couldn't see where/how it was possible. (also noting previously, I meant ctrl+space, not shift+space)

Also, Im leery of changing and losing existing bindings, as I found in the "preferences/customization/keyboard shortcuts" menu, it does not seem to indicate most of the keyboard shortcut keys already assigned by Sonar and shown in Sonar help file list of shortcuts, and indicates them here as unassigned, e.g. from top of "Locate Key" list, highlighting "B" says unassigned, yet is assigned to show browser, same with "I" , and most/many other already assigned to shortcuts, is there something Im not understanding here?
What's up with that?

It would be a handy option, I guess for now Ill just have to discipline myself to remember option selected, and hold "ctrl+space", or just "space" (and to not to shout profanities when mistaken, LOL).

Cheers
