I got the 828 MKII last week.
dave_music brought up the little "hizz" sound from his mackie
monitor, and I am wondering is the tiny "hizz" sound from MOTU
828 MKII after it's turned on also a normal sound?

Please help.

Hizz sound ? Are you talking about a hiss coming out of the audio output ? Or a sound coming out from the physical machine (like a fan or something) ?

FWIW I've never heard any serious hiss or other problems from mine.

The sound is the "zz" sound when I turn on the MOTU.
It sounds like the electricity is "flowing" in the MOTU...

Do you get any (even tiny) sounds from MOTU after you turn it on?

I did not notice any ZZ sound from Motu. It is very quiet. The hiss sound is from Mackie monitors themselves.

Then maybe it means I need to talk to MOTU's costumer service...
Well, my "z" sound is not a lot noise either. Just like I mentioned, it's
kind of like the "electricity flows through the MOTU" feeling....
It's still very quiet tho..
Just wanna make sure everything is good of my new baby.

Maybe you can try to listen to your MOTU (really close) in a very
quiet room to see if it makes a tiny-little "z" thing when it's on.

I didn't answer this clearly last time...
Yes, it's from the physical machine ....and yes, it feels like a fan for
computers or something, it constantly "z" (tiny) during the machine is on.

Is this normal??

do you mean a sort of high frequency humming noise, like when you can tell that a TV has been turned on in another room, or that annoying noise that cheap hifis make even when powered down (when they're determined to keep you awake all night!)?

I think it's more like the humming noise, "like when you can tell that a TV has been turned on in another room" (I love this!!)
But it's not that "high-frequency" for me.....IMO
