  • Console view constantly needs resizing?

Hi all,
Something's bugged me for quite some time, through many releases in the X series and now continues with Platinum.  I have a dual monitor setup - one screen dedicated for the Track view and the other for the console view. Whenever I open a project, the console view appears a bit smaller than when I saved it at full size of that screen.  I can resize it to take up the whole screen again, save the project - and when it's next opened again - it's smaller again.  Oddly, the width never changes, it's just the height - it always becomes about an inch or so shorter, cutting off the top of the console view.

It happens in all projects for me and through many versions of Sonar.  It's not a big deal, just annoys me a bit.  Has anyone else ever noticed this?

Locked screenset?

Yes... Jonesey has the right idea...

I simply dedicate one of my screensets to a console view (typically "0") then switch back and forth by hitting the two dofferent screenset numbers...

I can confirm that you are not alone. The Console View window used to behave this way all the time for me in Sonar 7 after I added a second monitor. The window would only resize itself if it was in the second screen when the project was saved. I saw similar behaviour in X2 but not so much in X3. Aside from CV, none of the other Views ever seem to have this problem.  I believe it's a bug.

Yes, I use screensets, but if I recall correctly, that doesn't have an effect - meaning, I resize the console view, so it's proper, save the screenset, and still, upon reopening the project, the console view is shorter than it should be.  Maybe I'll submit a query into Cakewalk tech support to get their view.

I didn't ever report the problem because I wasn't using the latest version of Sonar and I assumed that it probably would have already been fixed.

This thread is looking like a good candidate for the Problem Reports forum.

Hmmm... I wonder which difference is causing this?

My templates all have CV open and maximized in screenset 0 (10) and it works on all my old and new projects...

Are you certain the screenset isn't locked? If it was locked whike minimized it would re-open minimzed...

hHow are you saving the screenset?

The only way that I know of is to unlock it, relock it, then save the project.

Hi guys,
I don' think it has anything to do with the screensets.  I've tried unlocking the screenset, resizing the CV, relocking the screenset & saving the project to no avail - it still comes up a bit shorter whenever it's reopened.

Oddly enough, the CV also resizes automatically (resulting in it being too short) whenever I insert or change an icon at the bottom of a track in the CV.  (e.g. inserting a picture of a guitar or piano for an audio track).

Does that happen for anybody else?
