Hi people,
If someone could help verify this bug it would be nice:
 
1.  Open Event List with a track that has some MIDI data.
2.  Copy some of that MIDI data to the clipboard
3.  Open PASTE SPECIAL and choose a different track to paste the data. 
 
What I am experiencing is that the data is copied to the same track that I copied it from.  The workaround is to make the track that you want the data to be copied to the active track.  It should not work this way, Paste Special should paste the data to the track that was chosen as the Starting Track. 
This seems to occur when pasting from one track to another, multiple track pastes seem to be OK.
 
Can somebody confirm this?

I experience the intermittent nature of the bug as well in the staff view, but in the event list it seems to be a constant issue.  I filed a problem report and also wrote to Noel Borthwick about the issue.

The Destination Starting track field is ignored in Paste Special starting in SONAR 2016.08.  Rolling back to SONAR 2016.07 fixes the problem.  The behavior is not limited to the Event List.

Yep, I rolled back to 2016.07.41 and both problems, in the event list and staff view are now as resolved.  Makes one not so quick to install the latest, greatest version when a well-used function is suddenly out-of-order...

This problem report is still in status New, so I don't think anyone at Cakewalk Support has started to look into it. Considering that this newly introduced bug relates to the very basic function of pasting, I think they should though. And it takes less than five minutes to confirm.
