I have been using  Deselect All for many years because I've had extra tracks get deleted in the past.

Me too, I've had multiple tracks deleted. The issue is that if other tracks are also selected you can't always darn well see them if they have scrolled off the top and you can see only (for example) tracks 20-30. It's all very well saying "make sure they are not also selected" but if they cannot be seen then you don't even know. An option "delete only single tracks at a time" could help if it gave an error like "Sorry, Dave, I can't do that because there are multiple tracks selected".

But as was mentioned, deleting tracks does not delete the audio still residing in the Audio folder. Find it and reinsert it in the project.

^^^^    This is fairly important given that Vladasyn's biggest concern was losing a paid-for performance.

If you right click on the track it will tell you how many tracks you are about to delete.

@icontakt

Just an aside: What program did you use to create that screen recording. Could be handy for explaining this kind of stuff.

Licecap is a handy screen capture application that saves the capture as gif file. I believe that is the app being used above.

Yes, it's Licecap that I use. Very handy.

Maybe this is what you did?

I think the second right-click menu that I opened in the empty space below the tracks should also say "Delete 3 Tracks," instead of just "Delete Track."
I too have mistakenly deleted unintended tracks in the past because of this.

Wow. Well spotted icontakt....and great video.

I would recommend downloading Licecap directly from the developer's website [http://www.cockos.com/licecap/] to get the latest version and avoid any potential unwanted add-ons.

maybe this could be thought of as "make 'selected' clearly distinguishable from 'focussed'" as it seems to be related to the user not knowing what is selected at the time of delete?
