All right, I uploaded an image to show you what I'm looking at: http://i1213.photobucket....lerelf3/Untitled-1.jpg

I highlighted the clip (which is indeed selected and not locked) and that symbol to the right of it. If I press the 8 key, the symbol goes up the tracks. 2 takes it down. Some of the other number keys change the symbol to a magnifying glass, or what looks like a volume symbol, but no dice with moving the clip. Now, when I go to Process > Nudge, the options are not grayed out anymore. I can click on any of the options, and it DOES nudge the clip. The keyboard shortcuts simply don't work, which is a huge time waster.

Any ideas?

I also just checked my key bindings and they look in order. All the number keys are mapped to the correct function.

I don't think that's a symbol. I think it's a really short clip (otherwise it wouldn't move up tracks when you press 8). Zoom the track view in as far as you can and look at it again. I can make a 32nd note sized clip exactly like that.

Thanks, but no, it's not a clip. I zoomed in pretty far: http://i1213.photobucket....relf3/Untitled-1-1.jpg I can't select, nor delete it.

It's some sort of Sonar cursor. Has no one else seen this? I'm thinking I have a tool turned on that's bringing up this cursor. I don't know what it is. Cakewalk guys? Anybody?

Yeah, I don't know. I can still make a clip that's 20 ticks long that looks exactly like that when I'm zoomed in as far as I can go. And I can't really select it either. If I marquee select it, it also selects a regular sized clip I have next to it and selects the timeline all the way to the beginning of the project. Plus the short clip doesn't even show up in the event list.

But I just figured out that if I marquee select the tiny clip and it also selects the larger clip, I can control-click on the larger clip to deselect it, and that leaves the tiny clip selected alone and I can hit delete key to get rid of it. I really have a feeling that's what you have there, but I've been wrong before.

Aim Assist perhaps?

Except doesn't the aim assist line extend from top to bottom of the entire track view? His line looks like it only extends one track.
