Hi guys,

Unfortunately, all the information about the forced installation folder reached me after purchase.
Yes, I have Googled and searched this forum, so I know about the 'verbose' option in the Command Center and the possibility to just install from the downloaded files.

Yet, as the title of this threat states, when I start installation ('As administrator' doesn't make a difference) and get to the dialog part where you (normally) can specify the location of installation by use of the browse button I find this button and it's accompanying text box disabled.

You probably guessed that I have specific partitions for parts of Sonar that I want to have separated from the rest.
And I specifically want my C drive to be an OS-only drive.

Does anyone know how to solve this, considering all the usual options have been tested and failed?
Thanx in advance for your help.

Grtz,

Nico.

Usually the browser buttons are greyed out when the installer detects a value in the registry. Has SONAR been installed on this machine before?

That's a good one! Thanx!
I have installed once through the Command Center and turned up with Sonar on C.
I uninstalled and tried the other ways to install it on another partition.

Hmmm, now I have to find an remove that registry key.
Do you, by any chance, know which one it is?

BTW, if you installed more than just SONAR, such as Rapture Session, DPro or Rapture and want to relocate them too, see https://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013372/Clean-Install-All-Cakewalk-Software

If it is just the additional content drectory you wish to change:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software.  The registry entry is ContentDirectory

Thanx everybody for your help.
It kinda worked :(.

Sonar is now installed on the partition I want.
Yet, things like 'Çlassic Creative FX Suite' and 'Studio Instruments Suite' continue to install all kinds of files on C and the installation process doesn't let me select another location.

I've stopped installing and have to take some time to consider if Sonar is the way to go for me.
I've been with Sonar since 2008 (Sonar 8) and have loved it but not having control over the location of my files is frustrating to say the least.
It's not like I'm installing Notepad++, or some other 3Mb program.
I'm installing a sh*t load of files here and I'd like to organize them in a way I see fit.

Anyway, thanx again for all your help.

Grtz,

Nico.
