I am interested in this interface and noticed there is no midi connections. The only thing I could find regarding midi is this part of the features
(Includes drivers for Mac & PC, including ASIO, WDM, Wave, GSIF, Core Audio, and Core MIDI)
What is core midi?
I suppose this unit is for audio recording only.

If an audio interface lacks onboard MIDI, that only means you need a separate (standalone) midi interface to provide MIDI I/O to connect your MIDI gear (Keyboard/guitar) to your computer.  Onboard MIDI doesn't give you any extra MIDI abilities you wouldn't get with a standalone MIDI interface.

My Steinberg UR28M lacks onboard MIDI, so I use an Edirol UM2G MIDI interface to connect my keyboard to my DAW/PC.  If I substituted the UR28m with, say, a UR44 (which has onboard MIDI), the only thing I'd gain is the the convenience of one less unit to plug in (the Edirol midi box).

thanks JonD, I'm aware I can use a separate midi interface I'm just surprised it didn't have it. I guess it's geared more for digital connectivity.
