Almost any stem exported out of ProTools seems to be a broadcast wave file unless whoever is exporting it takes special precautions. And to make matters worse, ProTools starts its timeline at 1:00:00.000 instead of 0:00:00.000.
+1, I had a friend sent me a mix to master and I just said "This was mixed with ProTools." When he asked how I knew that I told him because it imported at the 1hr mark!
I leave import broadcast wavs to timestamp on to line up stems, but a ProTools imports always makes me reconsider for a moment.
Broadcast wavs are the way to go when working between DAWs though. They are very useful for this. Just be aware that clips imported out of view will have leading dots in the track to let you know "scroll right."
