I would appreciate some guidance (simple hand held instructions)on getting this installed and configured once you guys have it sorted. I'm not very good with this stuff.

Transatlantic post? I hope you are not going to send me eggs... My mother has tried that with my brother, inside Russia but it took more then 3 weeks. My brother was not happy when the package was delivered
 
I have posted new version of test preset on my forum, with instructions what and how to test. Currently the implementation is the same is Ardour, but it is different from Presonus original approach, so there are tests for that as well (in case the first is not working).
 
 
@BobV. Once we find the solution, I will release new version and the procedure will be the same as the first time you have installed AZ Controller. I hope it will not take long.

That was long time ago... my brother was near Arctic Ocean that time. Remembering grandmother's stories that in 19'th century sending eggs throw the whole Russia was possible (may be not throw the whole... Alaska was a part of Russia, my guess that route could be too long), my mother has tried

Good News!  Alexey has added Initialize code that works to wake up the FaderPort.
 
I'm sure he'll be along shortly with instructions.
 
My own preset has been modified to include the following functions:
[Proj] = Save Project
[<<] = Move left one measure
[>>] = Move right one measure
[User] = Toggle Input Echo

In short, update instruction are the following: stop Sonar, run downloaded file, start Sonar, open AZ Controller preferences (from Utilities menu or Control bar), switch to the "Options" tab, find "Tweak current configuration..." and select "Faderport" there.
Note: if you have made custom modifications (like BobF), they will be forgotten during preset regeneration.

I ran the new installer and did the setup you described. I tested with several cold boots and sonar saw the Faderport every time. You rock azslow3. Now why can't the manufacture do this? Thank you so much. Thank you Bob for all your help as well.

Thank you for the confirmation it works. And Bob has made it possible.
 
Presonus could publish documentation, I do not see why they think it should be "secret". And I guess Presonus has not notices one almost undocumented "feature" in CW API which can trigger strange things during project loading.
