Hi Guys!
Sorry in advanced if this question has been answered somewhere else. I tried doing a search but came up with little.

I've currently got Sonar Platinum and Sonar Artist running on a laptop. As this system is quite old, I've decided to get a new computer with better processing power. When I get it, I'm going to have to go through the usual stability checks to make sure soundcard plays well etc.. and then I'm going to transfer Sonar Platinum onto that machine and uninstall it from the old one, which will become my wife's computer.
My question is: If I put Sonar Platinum on the new machine and uninstall it from the current laptop, will that mean I will still have 1 of the 2 licenses available for future computer upgrades?
Is there something I need to do, to make sure the old computer is no longer considered in the license agreement?
I saw somewhere that I will have to do that with Addictive Drums.

Thanks for any help.

If you purchased Artist and upgraded to Platinum, you only have one license for SONAR. If you purchased both Artist and Platinum you have a license for Artist and a license for Platinum. It is not clear from the post whether Platinum was an upgrade or a retail purchase. Cakewalk permits installation of SONAR on more than one machine as long as only one instance of SONAR of each licensed version is in use at a time.

Full third party products bundled with SONAR are covered by the manufacturers' licensing agreements. XLN and Celemony permit two active installations. The licenses are maintained in your accounts on the manufacturers' sites.

I believe you can uninstall through the Command Center.  I'm not at home so I cant verify the how, but I have not met a modern piece of software where you cannot transfer your licenses to other computers.

Hi Scook,
I've been with Sonar since version 4, so all my versions since Sonar 4 have been upgrades from pervious versions.
I'm guessing that with the new Command Centre App the licensing works differently to in the past (I never had problems migrating Sonar 4 through to 8 onto other computers...thankyou Cakewalk for being so trusting).
The first product I got with the new Command Centre was Artist, then I bought the Platinum Lifetime Upgrade this year. I have serial numbers for both in My Products. Does this make a difference?

No, every version of SONAR has activation credentials. It is the price paid that determines the number of licenses. Since all of your versions of SONAR are upgrades from the retail purchase of SONAR 4, you have one license which has been upgraded ultimately to Platinum. This is one reason the upgrade price is less than retail. An upgrade does not include another license rather it is an upgrade to your existing license.

The Command Center may be used to install everything except Addictive Drums 2 but I would recommend getting the Melodyne installer from your Celemony account. That way you will get the latest version.

I doubt you'll have any problems at all, I'm just finishing my move to a new laptop and I didn't get to uninstalling Sonar on the old one at all yet.
