Will someone walk me through the path to change the track colors in Sonar Platinum? I have seen videos where the entire channel strip in Console view is let's say blue for drums, green for guitars, etc.
I must be missing one box checked/unchecked.
Is it the Wallpaper on default?
I have changed the color where the track number is but not the entire channel strip.
I have done sidechain compression, parallel compression, bouncing tracks m, etc., but this is making me feel pretty stupid. Ha! At least I can laugh about it.

The only theme that supports full strip color is "Mercury"

Preferences > Customization > Themes

Select "Mercury" from the dropdown list at the top.

To use track colors, you need to first set the Mercury theme. Someday there may be track colors possible with other themes, like the default Tungsten.

Edit: Oooops! BobF beat me to it!

Holy crap! That simple. If it was in the Cakewalk TOC or youtube or the other searches I did, then I must have skipped right over it. Is there any advantages/disavantages between Tungsten and Mercury themes? Or is it just the gray vs. black color scheme?

Feeling really stupid now. Ha!

I really wish we could color code the channel strips in the darker theme. I love the darker theme but, I need color coded strips. I know other DAWs can do this.

After all the hubbub with the Theme editor I'm using Mercury on my main system.
I really don't understand why someone at CW can't create a Mercury editable template that will leave the track color choice in place with the ability to still mod the rest of the interface. Wishful thinking I guess...

peace!

Well, wishful thinking if you want to use Theme Editor. If you use Duckbar (a theme editor developed by Panu), you can edit the Mercury theme, still retaining the colored tracks.

What is this Duckbar that you speak of? ;) I shall seek this out and retrieve said ware for testing.

Thanks!
