I've been using Sonar Powerstudio 250 and Project 5 for a few years now and I'm looking to upgrade to the new Sonar (I know I've been living in the dark ages). I have also recently upgraded my PC and I was just wondering whether I need to have a registered Sonar software product installed on my new system to upgrade the Sonar software or if I can just upgrade and download the new software onto my new system? Many Thanks for any replies in advance.

Upgrades are full retail versions of SONAR with a special price. There is no requirement to have any Cakewalk product installed prior to installing an upgrade. The only exception that I can recall is the SONAR 8.5 upgrade download.
