I don't know if this was already mentioned, but it would be very useful to have the ability to put/lock-in more than one plugin per Multi-Dock window.  Therefore, one could organize "pages" of plugins based on their usage.  For example, if multiple compressors, delays, or reverbs are used in a project, then each variety can be organized into their respective "pages" in the Multi-Dock, perhaps even having the ability to name the "tab" at the top.

The Multi-Dock "page" wouldn't need to snap-to-grid or anything like that.  Rather it could be more of a "sandbox" type approach so wherever the plugins are placed, they would remain.

I already suggested the idea of editable tab names in an earlier thread, but your idea is even better. To be able to create a blank tab in the MultiDock and put whatever you like into it would be a boon. I would definitely make good use of this feature if it were implemented.

Yes tabbed multidock folders would be a boon, as would the ability to drag and rearrange tabs. I'd vote your idea but unfortunately I'm on my phone and the lame mobile version of this forum doesn't allow it :(

I would also vote for it but I am on my phone too!

This is a great idea. I'd love to put an FX bin fxs on one tab.

I never thought about something like this before, but I really like the idea!   Things like the PRV or CV make sense to be single instances based on their usable width, but I can image adding a few plugins to a single tab to access them all at once instead of needing to switch tabs.    Good stuff.

Thanks guys.  I think it's a good idea that could be easily implemented...in Sonar X4 of course!  Please vote/rate my post to keep it up front and well seen!  Thanks!

Thanks for the additional thumbs up, guys!  So I take it this feature is not in Sonar Platinum (or any of the other new versions)?  I still have not upgraded.

Great Idea - however I think the importance of being able to re-name the tabs, etc is critical. For example in a current project, one tab is named: "Guitar Rig 5 [0: Kontakt 5 2 Kt. st. 1/kt st. 1 R Stereo]".
The shear real estate taken up by the tab makes moving around the multi-dock a pain. This would be a real opportunity for Cake to incorporate some of the ideas from this thread, many of which would go a long way toward improving this.

Yes, a nice idea, but I'm not so sure how easy this would be. The multidock model seems to be built around one window per tab, which explains why the tab takes on the window title and isn't editable. I'm guessing that supporting multiple plugin GUIs per tab probably comes with a host of programming challenges if not a wholesale re-coding of the multidock.

One alternative in the mean time is to group open plugin GUIs in dedicated screensets.

Shoot me a PM when these features are implemented.  Then I buy!
