Well, where is the "right" place?  Calling tech support?  Writing to them?  Filling out the problem reporter?  All those things are done and the bugs still do not get fixed.

Features and Ideas is for NEW features and idea. Requesting bug fixes is neither. There  are appropriate avenues to report problems and it would appear that you know them. There is Problem Reports forum too. I understand your frustration but flooding the forum is not going to help your cause.

"Flooding the Forum"?   With one post on this forum?    Actually, fixing the bugs in the staff view IS a new idea because it's never been done before  ;>)

lol :-)

Since Sonar really has evolved into a plugin host of sorts, I'd suggest they partner up with e.g. musescore.org and integrate a better notation system through an API, two-way MusicXML or something along those lines.
I realize that I can export from MuseScore and Sibelius, but very quickly one also realizes that e.g. Sibelius has it's own VST eco-system and there really is not much need for Sonar in the first place, or at least much less need for Sonar.

Staff view.  Not notation editor.  I see it as a separate product. Sorry , I would remove the boastful advertising and move on. Can we export the midi into a full blown notation editor and get it done? I am more concerned with the audio quality/mixing/etc.

Hi all,
I think it are a fundamental problems which should not have Sonar. I like, that Sonar team responds to the idea of the user. I believe that a lot of people about these problems already knows. And I believe that the team of Sonar these problems quickly removed.  Then the Sonar DAW will be strongest in the world! 

01.    Adjusted Screenshots do not work in all projects as well. When I create screenshots in one project and open another project, everything is gone and I must everything set up again.
02.    If I change position VU meter (Horizontal/Vertical) or set Narrow (Widen) Strips etc. in one project and then reopen this project, I must everything set up again. Inspector Window I must always docked too. Sonar should remember these basic facts!
03.    Changing the Volume Level - when I 2x click into a cell with a numerical value of Volume, I can’t enter a number Value on the numeric keypad.
04.    Sonar not remember zooming level of midi notes too - I open the project and must midi notes to zoom again.
05.    History in Sonar (Undo/Redo) not working well. Sonar is not saved everything. E.g. Volume of fader position.
06.    When I create a Track Template, Sonar not store all the information. E.g. I save a Track Template with NI Battery + MIDI Notes + Mapping. But Mapping is gone! I must set up the NI Battery (Mapping) again.
07.    Whenever I open a new project, I must to reactivate Full screen (Full Screen does not hold all the time).
08.    When I click on a  "*.mid"  file in Browser, Sonar does not play MIDI from the file trough VST Instrument.
---------------------------------------
09.    Please add the “Duplicate loop / loops / selection” Function. It is tedious to always use "Ctrl + Drag and Drop".
10.    Please add the Zooming with mousewheel, as E.g. Samplitude, Reaper or Sony Acid. It's incredibly effective!
11.    Please correct the loop points in the Ruler - When I place the Play cursor to the left or right side of the loop selection (loop points), I must always click on the piece next. Play cursor on the sides collides with loop points. This is awkward.
12.    When I add a track via hotkey, always is added to the end of the other. Correctly should create at a track that I selected.
13.    When I select multiple tracks, I do not move them all at once - it is not working. I must to drag and drop each separately. Related problem: all strips in the Console do not drag and drop(move)!
14.    CPU and Disk Performance Meter shows real only CPU Performance. Other parameters show nothing - HDD is always 100% etc. (= is it only bitmap?).
15.    Please make graphic of Sonar more slim - Sonar has too strong dividing lines, too many panels and so on ... today is a modern slim graphics. Please skins?

The above post has nothing to do with this feature request. It was also posted as a separate thread. Please do not do this again.

thanks

What might be agreeable to many folks is to come out with a separate incarnation.  They have Sonar Artist, Sonar Professional, Sonar Platinum, and Sonar Music Creator 7 I believe.

What about Sonar Composer?  take the basic music creator package which is perfect for all those folks who say Professional is "too busy or complex" and add an established notation editor to it, like they did with melodyne? or addictive drums?  So strike a deal with someone who already has a great notation plug in and move on? Package it with the most basic product for those piano and instrument composers out there and Voila! they have a product for that space. ;)

You keep trying to get rid of us.
Fact is the version of SONAR platinum I bought came with a staff view, step sequencer, matrix view, etc. It didnt have Drum Replacer, mix recall, or CCC for that matter (coming from X3e).
To use a home owner analogy, your argument is like saying we can just overlook the leaking plumbing in the bathroom upstairs by keeping that door closed. It's part of the house we all bought, but somehow to those who don't think it's important, it should be an add-in, different product (like an out-house?). Fwiw i try to avoid criticizing threads extolling the virtues of drum replacer (i already have and use Drumagog) and understand that not all features will appeal to all users. But clearly it's time the upstairs bathroom got some attention.

This is an excellent, excellent point.  The drum replacer example is right on.  I would expect sonar platinum to "have" the suped up notation editor as well as Sonar Composer don't get me wrong.  I expect that product space to get "all" the love from the other versions.  You know,  I believe this to be true but have no direct data to support it, but there is a market space that needs filling for those music folks , especially in education (the finale crowd) who want the home music creation and composing product. Finale is expensive and the lab packs are a bit of a pain to license.  I have worked for many k-12 school districts and one university that always put finale in audio labs.  Why not sonar.  But yeah platinum should get the full enchilada.

From a marketing perspective, Its a tough balance between too much line extension(too many different models)  and too many directions within one product(all things to all people).

I believe even Artist comes with Staff View. Why is staff view any different than PRV? It's a basic view within a midi sequencer. You mention Finale a couple of times. I own Notion and Progression but don't view those as replacements for the Staff View but just other tools. Most advocates for the staff view are not asking for Finale (or Notion/Sibelius) features to be added to SONAR.
Staff View is NOT an extra. It is part of the product we bought - like the bathroom plumbing. In another thread you appear to be advocating the addition of a spectral sampler to the drum replacer. Do you not see a dichotomy in your views?
